Archipelago of Exception - Zygmunt Bauman and Giorgio Agamben in conversation

The cartography that describes this archipelago of state-of-exception extraterritorial spaces, leads us to reflect upon the scope of the sovereignty of the traditional State and also upon the nature of power, the validity of political rights and the value of human life in an increasingly interdependent world. The closing session of the conference "Archipelago of Exception - Sovereignties of Extraterritoriality" from november 10 to 11, 2005, in CCCB Barcelona, features Zygmunt Bauman, Emeritus Professor of Sociology, University of Leeds, and as a respondant, Giorgio Agamben, Professor of Aesthetics, Faculty of Arts and Design, University IUAV of Venice.
